18 - Denison Dudes - Jason Stahl
In 1983, I met Jason Stahl when we were both in 4th grade. I had no idea then that he would become one of my best friends and comedy creation partners for the two decades that followed it. From my early comic books, to the improv comedy videos, to my first funny music demos, he was there in the mix, all the way through the year 2000. Sadly, our lives took us down different physical paths in the 2000's. The last time I saw Jason in person was in 2010, but we always kept in touch via the phone, text, and messenger. Recently when I saw a window to escape my horrible, horrible day job for 4 days to visit my family in Wisconsin whom I hadn't seen since December 2024, I decided to make a side quest up to Appleton to visit Jason and record this episode in person, because 16 years was too God damn long for us not to have seen each other face-to-face. The first half hour is us discussing all our favorite animated shows & movies from our youth, but the 2 hours that follow are an aural history of our friendship and our experiments in comedy content creation. The Comedy Music Time segment is all songs featuring Jason and I, or songs that he and I loved during our formative years. Enjoy it, or the Son of Sara Lee will come and shove your face in a bowl of Jell-o.
